The ROMs here are supposed to be used on emulators. The Commodore ROMs included are REQUIRED to properly and successfully run a VICE emulation.

DEBIAN (and Ubuntu) packaging currently removes all of these ROMs and users are left with non-working VICE packages. Searching the web for a solution often leads to answers which suggest to download the Windows builds or dive into the linux build to extract the ROMs from there to an undocumented directory within your OS version (often /usr/share/vice but due to recent /usr changes on distributions this is also to become a moving target).

However - Replay Resources will - of course - aim to create a "full premium set" including all the kernal, drive and cartridge ROMs with scripts to install it easily into your OS (Debian based Linux but likely also Windows sooner or later).

Requirement: Under Debian you will have to enter your root/superuser password to install to the appropriate directory using the BASH script. Check the script for yourself if you want to deal this task manually - it is just a copy command.

Binaries

NOTE: VICE_ROMs is all you need to run the Debian packaged supplied VICE emulators - these binaries are also available from the source. VICE_Extra_ROMs are required to emulate additional non-CBM Hardware such as DTV, SuperCPU, CMD Drives etc. and will be extended in the future.
